Financial capability, and a tree-planting commitment

On 27 June 2025, more than 50 women took part in the launch of the Women's Financial Literacy and Inclusion Programme at Seedspace, Tanzanite Park, Dar es Salaam. The planning deck had set a target of 60 participants.

The initiative brought together I&M Bank Tanzania, Airtel Money, Grant Thornton Tanzania and ATI around financial capability, digital confidence and environmental responsibility. I&M Bank Tanzania organised and led the launch; Airtel Money provided access to its Kamilisha women's community and helped mobilise participants; Grant Thornton Tanzania developed the training curriculum.

ATI's role: the linked tree-planting commitment

The launch report states that I&M Bank pledged one tree for every 100 women it finances, targeting 8,000 trees a year over three years, with ATI designated to oversee supply, tracking and reporting for that commitment. The planning deck notes the first three planting sessions were planned for July 2025, starting with 1,008 trees.

This is a pledge and a plan, not a record of trees already planted.

Kamilisha's own reported scale (more than TZS 392 billion disbursed, 46% of beneficiaries women, more than 5 million Tanzanians reached) is Airtel Money's and I&M Bank's own product statistic, dated to the launch report. It describes their platform, not ATI's beneficiaries, and is not counted as ATI impact.
