Our work

LawEnforcementCapacity

Trained officers, stronger institutions, better cases.

Practical, multi-agency training delivered in-country since 2022

Building capacity for more effective enforcement. Equipping law enforcement officers, judicial practitioners, and port security authorities with practical skills, evidence-gathering protocols, and inter-agency coordination mechanisms.

The challenge

Enforcement outcomes depend on people. An investigation is only as strong as the officer who gathers the evidence, the analyst who reads the intelligence, and the prosecutor who has to carry it into court.

Environmental crime cases are technically demanding. They involve digital evidence, financial flows, chain-of-custody requirements and multiple jurisdictions, often at the same time.

How we build capacity

ATI convenes specialised, practical workshops for enforcement officers, judicial practitioners and port security authorities. Sessions are delivered in-country, with participants drawn from the agencies that will use the skills.

Training covers investigative technique, controlled delivery exercises, port and container inspection, evidence handling, and the inter-agency coordination that complex cases require.

ATI strengthens:

  • Practical investigative skills for officers in post
  • Evidence-handling and chain-of-custody discipline
  • Judicial familiarity with environmental crime cases
  • Port, airport and border inspection capability
  • Working relationships between agencies that need to share information

ATI provides technical training, capacity building and coordination support. Operational authority (investigation, arrest, seizure and prosecution) rests with statutory law enforcement and judicial authorities.
