Community resilience and prevention.

16 Days of Activism · 80+ participants, December 2024

Community resilience and prevention. Mobilizing grass-roots advocacy through 16 Days of Activism campaigns, educational forums, and community safety networks.

Why this sits alongside our conservation work

ATI's community programmes operate in the same coastal and rural districts as its conservation work. Where household economic pressure rises, so does exposure to violence and exploitation.

Prevention work is therefore delivered by the same community partnerships that support restoration and livelihoods, not as a separate vertical.

Our response

ATI partners with local organisations to mobilise grass-roots advocacy, run educational forums, and support community safety networks, including participation in the annual 16 Days of Activism campaign.

ATI strengthens:

  • Grass-roots advocacy and community education
  • Community safety networks and survivor referral
  • Local partnerships in the districts where ATI already works

ATI provides technical training, capacity building and coordination support. Operational authority (investigation, arrest, seizure and prosecution) rests with statutory law enforcement and judicial authorities.
