WhereWe Work
Documented programme delivery across East, Central and Southern Africa since 2022.
ATI’s documented institutional and programme engagement connects governments, practitioners and partner organisations across Africa. Explore the map to view confirmed programmes, project locations and participating institutions.
The map separates three things that are easy to conflate: countries where ATI has hosted a programme, countries whose institutions took part in a programme hosted elsewhere, and the specific venues and project sites behind each programme. Zanzibar and Kigamboni appear as locations within Tanzania.
International participation
ATI’s programmes are delivered in Africa, but the trafficking networks they address are not confined to it. Where officers from outside the continent have taken part, that participation is recorded here rather than drawn on the map. Attending a course in Arusha does not make a country part of ATI’s operational footprint.
Four officers from Cambodia joined the advanced controlled delivery course in Arusha, Tanzania, in October 2023, under the Reducing Maritime Trafficking of Wildlife between Africa and Asia project. The trade route that project was built to address runs between the two regions.
ATI also works with academic and technical institutions outside Africa, including the University of Washington and its Center for Environmental Forensic Science, whose forensic science supports the training programme.
