Seven courses, two phases, one investigative chain

Reducing Maritime Trafficking of Wildlife between Africa and Asia was a UNDP/GEF project (PIMS 5620), delivered between Q4 2021 and Q4 2023 within a programme framework that includes USAID Grant Activities 2.1.1 and 2.1.2 and the Global Wildlife Program.

Grace Farms Foundation, not ATI, was the project's formal Responsible Party. ATI evolved from Grace Farms Foundation Africa, and this page presents the programme as part of that institutional history, not as a contract ATI held directly.

The series ran in two phases: four courses building financial-investigation and asset-recovery capability, followed by three controlled-delivery practical exercises that put that capability to work in the field.

Impact, measured carefully

The programme created practical, cross-border learning environments for investigators, prosecutors, customs officers, wildlife authorities, forestry officers, police and financial-intelligence personnel. Participant feedback showed strong perceived relevance: 111 of 119 responses said the learning fully met expectations, and 117 of 119 said it would be useful or applicable in their work.

The programme is not claimed to have caused any specific seizure or prosecution.
